Details $49.00
$70.00/Liter
Runa Vodka Silver is a small batch Swedish craft Vodka, made with organic ingredients. The right choice for those who appreciate the Scandinavian qualities of pureness and freshness.

With its alcohol content at 37.5%, the Runa Vodka Silver is somewhat milder than the original Runa Vodka, but with a taste just as impressive: a pure, subtle flavor, with some notes of rye coming through on the nose. The special blend of different types of grain makes Runa Vodka unique.

Only ingredients that are grown regionally and meet Runa's exacting environmental standards make it into Runa vodka. Guaranteed organic according to the strict SE-EKO-01 certification scheme.

Runa's creators chose the town of Malmköping for bottling, due to the incredible purity of the water coming from the local Malmköpingsasen springs. The whole region is designated as a water protection area to ensure the groundwater remains remarkably clean.

The design brings together ancient and modern Scandinavia. The bottle is an example of modern Scandinavian design, a collaboration with a Swedish glassblowing school. A competition was held to design a unique bottle, and the result was what appears to be molten bottle, distorted and squashed by someone with a strong grip.

History runs deep: Runes are to be found throughout the design. Some are hidden and have to be discovered on the bottle in person. Others are in plain sight: Around the bottle's neck, attached with black cord, swings a troll cross. This is a protective talisman made of metal, in the form of a rune. It takes us back to the time when the Vikings travelled across the vast horizons of the northern world. Until the 19th century runes were used in some parts of Sweden. Indeed, Runa is the source of the modern word Rune.

The Runa Gin is a small-batch distilled gin, made from meticulously selected organic ingredients.

Essential to a gin is the spirit used. The quality of the spirit can make or break a gin. In the case of Runa, because of their expertise with organic vodka, the creators of Runa had highest possible quality spirit already available to use for their gin.

All the botanicals used come from organic farming. While you enjoy Runa Gin, you can easily recognise juniper berries, orange and other spices. The typical Scandinavian character of freshness and pureness comes across.

Runa gin is only produced in small quantities, and in a nice touch, the precise number of the bottle from the batch is written on the back label.

Bottled in an elegant frosted bottle of a unique design.

Easily transported with one hand.

History runs deep: Runes are to be found throughout the design. Some are hidden and have to be discovered on the bottle in person. The Absinthe Rhum Decollage – Wormwood-infused Rum, is the result of a very successful experiment.

The recipe for Absinthe Rhum Decollage was inspired by an academic study performed by Alice Peeters in 1976: “Le petit paysannat Martiniquais et son environnement végétal”, which described how farmers in Martinique used to soak various plants including grand wormwood in rum, rather like the tradition of 'Rhum Arrangé' in Guadeloupe, Reunion and Madagascar: rum infused with spices and fruit.

Wormwood-infused Rum is obtained through the maceration of grand wormwood and other plants in a high quality rum from Martinique, sugarcane amd wormwood distillates. The result is a slightly sweet rum with wonderful herbaceous notes. It is important to note that unlike absinthe, this rum does not contain anise. Additionally, the wormwood flavour is stronger than in traditional absinthe.

Officially a region of France, Martinique is in the Carribean, which has a much better climate for sugar cane. The name comes 'Decollage' is a nickname for the first 'Ti-Punch' rum cocktail of the day. Yes, some people in Martinique like to enjoy their rum at sunrise. There is a popular (and erroneous) belief among some people there that a rum at 8:00 am makes you stronger and allows you to start the day off right. We can only remind everyone to consume this rum responsibly, however delicious it may be!

Absinthe Française du Levant, which is also known as absinthe France Japon, combines the French and the Japanese flag on the label.

The unique aspect of this Absinthe is a rare ingredient: Japanese Lemongrass. Monsieur Fumoux, the distiller of this absinthe, shared with us that he's convinced that if the Japanese had developed absinthe in the 19th century, then lemongrass would have been used in the production.

Unlike lemon balm (also known as melissa), lemongrass contributes very particular flavours. In terms of aroma and taste, lemongrass has a clearly dominant role.

A new taste experience, especially for those who already know classical absinthes and want to try something fruity!

You can find out more about this special absinthe from absinthe expert Marc Thuillier's tasting notes.

The Absinthe Apocalypse is not only an outstanding design, it is also a high-quality absinthe!

The Absintherie Bourbonnaise has succeeded in creating a modern and stylish absinthe while respecting traditional techniques and ingredients. This is real absinthe.

The first high-quality spirit presented in a skull bottle was Crystal Head Vodka. Absinthe Apocalypse is much more interesting than a vodka could ever be though, with a rich variety of high quality herbs including the classic anise, grand wormwood and fennel.

It is delivered in an illustrated box that not only provides information about the absinthe traditional absinthe drinking ritual, but also offers an optimal way to keep the bottle protected from light.

This Absinthe captivates with its own character. An authentic Absinthe naturally colored, and distinguished by its subtle herbaceous notes. In terms of aroma and taste, lemon and peppermint are easily distinguishable.

The name Absinthe Apocalypse was inspired by a section of The Book of Revelation, also known as as The Apocalypse Of Saint John. Parts of Revelation Chapter 8 are also printed on the box of the bottle:

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
Revelation 8:10

And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
Revelation 8:11

The absinthe Le Coq Vert is produced by the Bourbonnaise distillery and it has an alcohol content of 65%. Its color is green and a little bit amber colored too. This Verte is based on a modern recipe, containing a lot of herbs that can also be tasted. Due to the mint used, the absinthe Le Coq Verte is added a particular freshness.
The label displays a coquerel (french = coq) whose feathers, in different shades of green, will remind people about the huge variety of plants that are used in this absinthe. The coquerel was the national symbol of France and absinthe was once the national drink of the country.

A pleasantly surprised “Oh My God!” might escape your lips on first tasting this gin! Although it turns out that the 'OMG' actually stands for the rather less blasphemous Oh My Gin, a fitting name for this well crafted creation from the Zufanek distillery.

The OMG is distilled in the style of London Dry Gin, without any sugar added. It is made of 16 different herbs and spices macerated in a base alcohol for several hours before being expertly distilled. The classic gin ingredients juniper and coriander are there, along with some more exotic botanicals, such as grains of paradise, lavender, and the leaves from Tilia cordata, a variety of lime tree native to Europe and considered sacred during pagan times. Just before distillation is started, orange peel is added to the mixture to give a subtle citrus flavour. At the end, you get a distillate with an alcohol content of 80%, which is then brought down to a respectable 45% by blending with pure water. Each run makes about 1,200 litres of Gin.

Tasting this Gin is a true delight. It has an intense juniper aroma and flavours of pepper and lemon. A smooth gin with powerful aromas and a subtle spiciness.

A new recipe from the distillery Devoille that combines exceptionally exotic and rare varieties of wormwood grown in the grounds of the distillery. The ingredients include locally grown Artemisia afra, Artemisia absinthium, Artemisia pontica (Roman wormwood), hyssop, angelica, and lemon balm along with fennel, coriander seeds, and even more secret ingredients that the distillery refused to tell us!

The wormwood varieties grown by Devoille have been picked after the first frosts and snowfall, giving a special aromatic intensity to the botanicals used for distillation.

The Absinthe du Centenaire is characterized by its floral and herbaceous notes, the freshness of fennel and the unique notes given by rare varieties of wormwood.

The original Roquette was an experiment: an attempt to try and get back to the roots of absinthe, when it was more herbal elixir than evening beverage.

After the successful creation of Roquette, a new experiment was undertaken, one that would require a lot of patience and tight lips: until this very moment it has remained a closely-guarded secret:

A batch of the original Roquette 1797 was placed in a wooden cask, and carefully stowed in a cool and dark corner of the distillery. Five years later, we have tasted it and can safely declare the experiment a grand success!

The effects of time and aging in wood are unmistakeable. The subtle vanilla notes of the wood marry perfectly with Roquette's herbal elixir qualities. The beautiful cognac colour reveals hints of its original green absinthe hue when you hold it up to the light.

Exclusive limited edition. Only a small number of bottles are available, and it's first come, first served.

Sugar tongs have a long history connected with both absinthe and tea drinking! Later on granulated sugar came to dominate the sugar scene, however to this day tongs remain the most elegant way to serve a sugar cube!

Using the tongs, grasp a sugar cube from a plate of cubes, and place gently on your absinthe spoon.

Developed by T.A. Breaux, a professional scientist and absinthe specialist, Coeur de Jade forms the "heart" of classical absinthe and liqueurs distilled by Jade Liqueurs and the Combier Distillery: Esprit Edouard, Jade 1901, Perique tobacco liqueur, and all the others. Produced according to 19th century traditional methods, and distilled from selected wine varieties, Coeur de Jade is the base spirit which gets blended with herbs and distilled to make Jade absinthe.

It is now available after many requests from those who appreciate the traditional Jade absinthes and want to taste the main ingredient of their favourite spirits.

It took a long time to develop such an extraordinary eau-de-vie. Indeed and contrary to many wine spirits, this eau-de-vie is distilled in accordance authentic historical procedures, avoiding modern column still distillation which strips out so much of the beautifully unique fruity fragrances. The end product is wonderfully close to authentic 19th century eau-de-vie.

The distinctive flavours of this smooth and aromatic brandy can also be used as an amazing base for original cocktails. Serve in the same way you would any other high-quality brandy or grappa: in a snifter.

The long awaited final chapter of Jade liqueurs' absinthe portfolio.

The development of Jade Terminus Absinthe Oxygenee took several years: historical sleuthing, botanical research and patience were all necessary to produce this high quality absinthe.

Jade Terminus is an homage to one of the best absinthes of the Belle Epoque: Cusenier Oxygenée. The Cusenier distillery created this absinthe in reponse to claims that absinthe was dangerous, and claimed that their proprietary oxygenation process left the absinthe free of any potentially deleterious properties. We now know that absinthe is only as harmful as any other alcoholic drink, however this unique oxygenation process lent a unique character to the absinthe, so to make Jade Terminus Oxygenee Ted Breaux decided to use a hot oxygenation process closely mirroring the original technique.

This handcrafted absinthe is distilled by T.A. Breaux, according to traditional french methods, and aged fully for several years. Absinthe alembics from the 19th century have been used for its destillation in the historical Combier distillery. This absinthe is made of a eau-de-vie base spirit, unusual Alpine varieties of wormwood, and other European herbs. No sugar or artificial colours are in the recipe. This absinthe has rested for an average of 3 years before bottling.

This absinthe represents the most powerful expression of the spirit in the Jade portfolio!

Creamy, with potent aromatics and a lengthy, stimulating aftertaste, recalling the medicinal origins of the spirit.

Blanche Neige won the gold medal at the Absinthiades 2014.

The fairest absinthe of them all...

Our aim is always to share with you the finest of spirits. We've taken this dedication a step further by developing our own range of fine spirits. All of these spirits are absolute classics, some of them also taking tradition and giving it a slight twist!

We are proud to present the first of these very special beverages.

Absinthe Blanche Neige is in every sense of the word a classic: everything from the recipe, to the distiller, and the village where it is distilled.

When commissioning Blanche Neige, we only considered a select few of the finest absinthe distillers alive today to be up to the task. It was very soon clear that the cream of the crop was Gaudentia Persoz, one of the world's most talented absinthe distillers, and who has achieved great success with her own absinthes.

The recipe is based on an antique recipe from the private archive of a family steeped deeply in the tradition of absinthe: that of Gaudentia's husband, Jean-Michel Persoz. This makes a classic clear La Bleue absinthe.

What makes Blanche Neige that extra bit different is a precious and priceless ingredient, the root of a plant renowned for its aromatic qualities. Only found in the Alps, this herb, known as génépi, grows wild in the Alpine hills around the Haute-Alpes. Gaudentia was thrilled to experiment with génépi, finding the perfect amount to suit the historic recipe.

It took us 6 full trial distillations in total to finally be satisfied with the result, and tweak the recipe used. The distiller's proof edition of Blanche Neige was the first batch available, and now we're pleased to offer you the first full-sized 50cl bottles.

What is so special about Pernod and Pernod Fils? Henri-Louis Pernod was the first distiller to help open an absinthe distillery in 1798, shortly after absinthe was first discovered as a drink. He then founded his own business in 1805 in Pontarlier, France. During the 19th century, a major popular vogue arose in Parisian bistros and bars where people used to gather and share Pernod with its absinthe serving accessories.

Place a sugar cube on the spoon, slowly drip water over it to revive the absinthe ritual.

Details $42.00
A lovely and eye-catching absinthe dripper that will evenly allow iced water to drip into your absinthe glass.

Such absinthe drippers are placed onto the rims of an absinthe glass (they fit most standard sized absinthe glasses, such as the Pontarlier II or the Classic Pontarlier glass), and iced water is poured into the metal container. A small hole in the metal releases the water onto the see-saw, which evenly drips the water into your absinthe that is in the glass below.
The speed of the drip is adjusted to the ideal amount of water to be added to absinthe at the same time, allowing each essential oil to enfold at their own absinthe-water ratio.

The see-saw system enables up to two glasses to be filled up at the same time, by placing just two of its feet onto a rim of each glass. The pleasant, frequent soft click of the see-saw can be considered as soothing, while watching your absinthe louche.

The label of the Pernod Absinthe with its old fashioned style aims to remind of the prestige and tradition of Pernod, and its recipe.

It aims to bring back the original Pernod Fils - using a recipe from the 19th Century. This absinthe is distilled from a wine alcohol base, in a French distillery in Thuir (not far from Perpignan). All artificial colours were banned from the previous recipe, and its now natural green colour is obtained through maceration with nettles.

Pernod also uses the world renowned Pontarlier wormwood - the place where the legendary Pernod Fils distillery used to distill its absinthe.

A decent absinthe with a nice variety of herbs.

Slivovitz is a Brandy made from plums. Only small quantites of this delicious Brandy are made at the Zufanek distillery each year. The distillers use only ripe plums to guarantee the signature taste of a typical, civic Slivovitz.

The plums used for this Slivovitz are all cultivated and harvested from the organic certified Zufanek estate in the Czech Republic. The production process requires a lot of precision and time. Starting with the harvest and the selection of the plums (only ripe and healthy fruits are processed further). After selecting the plums, they are prepared to ferment for at least 2 months, in an air-tight 160l tank, where they can develop and reveal their aroma.

The time spent in an oak barrel adds lovely hints of vanilla and wood to this fruity spirit. A tasty composition!

Absinthe Cousin Jeune is a quite strong blanche - with its 65%, it lies slightly above the average ABV for clear absinthes. This results in a rather bitter, yet floral aroma.

Cousin Jeune himself used was an absinthe distiller during the Belle Epoque around 1900. When absinthe was banned, he is said to have launched a "thujone free" absinthe which he aimed to establish on the market. He is also believed to have helped Armand Guy financially, when he was having difficulties founding his family distillery.

Today, Dominique Rousselet, the master distiller at Emile Pernot, is reanimating an absinthe from before the ban, with this recipe from 1898. The distillery is renowned for their long list of high quality absinthes, many of them carrying several awards. However, their range of absinthes mainly consists of vertes, which makes Cousin Jeune even more special! The label he uses for his absinthe is a print of a historic advertising poster for Cousin Jeune Absinthe.

The label is a copy of a historic advertising poster for Absinthe Cousin Jeune, showing a lady with red hair, carrying a tablet with a large absinthe glass and a bottle of Absinthe. She says "Ask my cousin" which probably implies that she serves her cousin's absinthe.

Vodka that is flavoured with cannabis is rather rare. However – like many other spirits that are flavoured with all sorts of aromas (for example, Absinthe Cassis Liqueur) these days, this trend doesn't make an exception for one of the most famous spirits in the world, vodka.

The distinct, slightly sweet aroma of hemp is obtained from especially for VODCA cultivated hemp flower – somewhere on fields in Switzerland. An amazing 1,5 tons of hemp flowers are required to obtain only one liter of this precious aroma. It's then brought together with the German distilled vodka. Even though VODCA is quite strong with its 40%, it has a smooth and inviting aroma to offer.

Enjoy VODCA ice cold as a shot, or over ice. VODCA mixes great with fizzy, refreshing cocktails.

A smooth and soft Brandy made from Williams pears, and aged in an oak barrel. The diverse aroma and taste typical for this type of pears add a long-lasting, intense and lovely taste to this distillate.

The distillers at the Zufanek distillery follow strict and success-oriented procedures for the production of all their spirits. For this Brandy, only pears of the highest quality are used. The Zufanek family cultivates the majority of the fruit, herbs and other plants necessary for their spirits on their own orchards. The Zufanek estate received an organic certificate for their 100% natural production.

The aging process in a French white oak barrel adds a rich sweetness and a strong aroma of dried pears to the result. Enjoy Hruskovica neat, as a digestif.

Mead Base is a special absinthe, that is very uncommon in the wide ranges of absinthes around today. Instead of the usual grain alcohol, Mead Base is distilled from honey wine (mead) that was aged for three years. All six herbs used to distill this deliciously sweet absinthe are cultivated in the Zufanek's garden and on their land. In fact, almost all ingredients the distiller family uses to produce their spirits, is grown, cultivated and harvested by the family.

The result of distilling an absinthe on the base of mead is a gentle and herbal spirit, with a lovely aroma of honey. Compared to the other Zufanek absinthes, Mead Base contains less anise and fennel in order to maintain the distinct, sweet aroma of honey, and to not overpower it. This means the Mead Base shows a quite thin louche, and probably ideal for absinthe fans who don't like the taste of heavy anise. Only 110l of this rare speciality are made each year - so if you're curious, don't miss out on the opportunity to get hold of a bottle!

Chartreuse liqueurs are especially valuable spirits that are produced by monks of the Carthusian order in the grand charter house of the monastery, in Voiron – near Grenoble, in France.

The production of Chartreuse liqueur is wound up in many secrets and myths. There are only two monks, Minister Benoit and Brother Jean-Jacques, who know the 130 various ingredients of the original recipe. Other sources relating to the original recipe are known by a third monk. We are relatively sure that ca. 1/3 of the ingredients originate in the Chartreuse region and the other 2/3 come from all over the world. All the ingredients, even including the coloring agents, used in all the charterhouse-produced liqueurs are 100% organic.

In Scandinavia, during festivals and holidays, it's common to see bottles of herb-infused schnapps and aquavit passed around the dinner table or passed between friends during a crayfish boil. Of all of the different type of infused schnapps, the traditional "besk" or bitter schnapps is one of the most unique.

Avery Glasser, co-founder of bitters and bitter liqueur producer Bittermens, decided to keep the tradition of bitter schnapps production alive using very traditional methods. First, a high proof aquavit is made by infusing caraway into strong spirits. Licorice, rhubarb, citrus and other herbs are then macerated in the aquavit to slowly extract their flavor. Distilled wormwood is then blended in and the schnapps is finished with a little bit of sugar.
