Abtshof 80 is a multi-prizewinning absinthe.
Gold medal in 2005 and 2007 at the International Hard-Liquor competition, silver medal in 2006, the Abtshof 80
absinthe includes essences of wormwood, fennel, Melissa and coriander.
It comes in a nice glass decanter reminding the old pharmacy bottles.
A lighter version, the Abtshof 66, is also available.
It was to celebrate its 80 anniversary that the distillery launched its limited edition Abtshof 80
absinthe, the younger version of Abtshof 66.
Hegemann & Co Abtshof Magdeburg was created in 1924.
It was destroyed during the Second World War, but it was rebuilt the following year and continued to produce alcoholic beverages. It was modernised in 1997 when they acquired a bottle-filling and packaging chain.
It is open to the public since 2002
