Lasala absinthe is fruity and refreshing. Probably the best considering the quality price ratio.

It is one of the most drunk absinthes in Spain.
Lasala absinthes contains grand wormwood, melissa, fennel and green anise. No artificial colouring is part of its cmposition, and no sugar is aded.

An absinthe that brings the sun back!

Nose : Aniseed and fruity (lemony melissa). It reveals light notes of hyssop and grand wormwood.

Paladar : Fresh and fruity. Marked by anise. The lemony notes that appeared on the nose are accompanied with a light bitterness that comes from the grand wormwood.

Finish : Lemony and lightly bitter.
With England and Andora, Spain is part of the rare countries to have never suffered of the forbidding to produce absinthe.
The production of Philippe Lasala absinthe started before the spanish civil war (1936-1939). It is still produced according to the same recipe.
- First, savour Lasala with half a piece of sugar. Then, accordng to your taste, add more or less.

- For one measure of absinthe (3cl), add 2 to 5 measures of fresh water.

Yummy!
Okay, so it breaks all the absinthe rules, but if you fill a glass with ice, pour an ounce of Lasala, and then top it with some ice cold cream soda, you got one heck of a delicious beverage. How many nights have I enjoyed this creation? I cannot count, but I enjoyed them all.

Also if you mix an ounce of Lasala with an ounce of brandy, shake it in ice, and pour. We call it a 'Gilgamesh.' Excellent little shooter that you might want to sip.

Lasala seems to taste best the colder you serve it.

Excellent value, low in alcohol but nice and refreshing. Nice if you want something light before or after a meal.

Lightly citrusy, clean, smooth and best of all shockingly inexpensive. Philippe Lasala is an excellent starting point for the beginning absintheur.
