Marilyn Manson’s absinthe: distilled and naturally coloured, according to the rules. A great surprise.
A certain complexity is hidden behind
Mansinthe’s simplicity, and will surprise more than one.
It suggests hyssop and green anise flavours on discrete grand wormwood notes, and offers an agreeable finish.
An absinthe that will please fans as well as amateurs !
- In 2000, Marilyn Manson spent New Year’s Eve in the south of France with Johnny Depp, who introduced him to absinthe. He fell in love with it, and has ever since dreamt of creating his own absinthe. Artists definitely like this drink!
- The label of the
Mansinthe bottle was designed by Marilyn Manson himself; he is represented in front of a glass of absinthe, looking much older than he his (“when I get old”).
-
Mansinthe participated at the 2007 Absinthiade; it was awarded 6th place.
The legalisation of absinthe in Switzerland enabled Markus Lion to join Oliver Matter in the production of the Duplais absinthes. Duplais Verte was produced first in July 2005, followed by Duplais Blanche in September of that same year, and Duplais Balance one year later.
Marilyn Manson who wanted to create an absinthe according to the rules, decided to call upon the Matter Luginbühl distillery in 2005. After two years of research,
Mansinthe saw the light.
- At first, savour
Mansinthe with half a piece of sugar. Then according to your taste, add more or less.
- For one measure of absinthe (3cl), add 2 to 5 measure of fresh water.

I was completely pleased with Mansinthe.
Not only is the bottle very appealing, it tastes just as good.
I would recommend this to both new-comers and the Absinthe lovers.
Preparing it the traditional way is good, but I tried it with pineapple juice and it's pretty good with that, too.
All in all, it's a great Absinthe.
