This "Die Grüne Fee" absinthe is lovingly prepared from plants native to the Val-de-Travers. The distiller uses just traditional methods of distillation, and refers to recipes that date back into the Belle Epoque. More information: Nose Minty-fresh, yet bitter. Harmoniously strong. Palate Initially pleasantly sweet, smooth and mellow. This is followed by a long-lasting finish with strong vermouth. In short An absinthe as it was before prohibition: a strong green colour, strong and bitter vermouth taste, bold and extremely substantial.

Serving Suggestion

- At first, savour Boheme with half a piece of sugar. Then, add more or less according to your taste.

- For one measure of absinthe (3cl), add 2 to 5 measures of fresh water.

I received this Absinthe at the same time as the Sade Absinthe. At first, when I poured them side by side, I was thinking that the more subdued color of the Boheme meant that it was going to be a lighter style and would not compare to the Sade. Seconds later, the aromas from the Boheme glass hit me. This Absinthe has even more powerful aromas than the Sade, despite the illusion created (for me) by a lighter color. I added nearly frozen distilled water at a ratio of 5:1 and as I lifted the dripper from the glass, the very powerful aromas were able to escape and fill the room with their intense perfume. It was at this point I realized how magnificent this Absinthe was going to be! My apartment smelled like an Alpine Meadow! This is a more traditional manifestation of Absinthe than the Sade, but done on a level which I don't think I have experienced before. It's powerful, seamless and creamy. It's loaded with minty Wormwood and is complemented perfectly with all the layers of flavor that other 11 herbs bring to the party. The flavors, like the aromas, are redolent of an Alpine Meadow. It's complex, concentrated and the mouthfeel is creamy& numbing at the same time. This is another masterpiece and certainly top 3 of all the Absinthe I've had the pleasure of experiencing in the last 10 years. These are expensive bottles but well worth the extra money. Not exactly an everyday drinker but when it's time to share the best with friends and family, this is most certainly one of 3 or 4 bottles that are on the table.

A suttle, but yet in your thoughts absinthe! Im loving it, I prefer the Sade personally over this but this is still what i would say is for true Absinthe imbibers. No SUGAR as i always do. Sweet and constant kick of mint with a thick layering aftertaste of anise, numbing, that sends you floating back to the fountain again. Winning. CHEERS!

Green Velvet & Dock 11

green_velvet

Green Velvet and the Dock11 series of absinthe have their origins in the birthplace of the green fairy. A misty Swiss valley called the Val-de-Travers, where just a handful of former bootleggers now openly distil absinthe. And these are the makers of Green Velvet and the Dock11 series.

Green Velvet val. 275 La Bleue and Green Velvet val. 340 Verte combine the highest quality Swiss absinthe with luxurious packaging. These bottles are at home on the shelf of a 5 star hotel bar.

The Dock11 series is a well-curated selection of the finest of the Val-de-Travers absinthe, both classic Swiss absinthe and new innovations. All of the absinthe bottles in the series feature original, beautiful artwork, demonstrating excellent taste. The series includes Wolfsmilch and Zeitgeist, which were created in collaboration with the late H.R. Giger, Swiss artist and designer of the petrifying creature featured in Ridley Scott's space horror film 'Alien'.
