The Fleur d'Absinthe is unique and original because of the wormwood sprig inside the bottle. A French premiere.

Fleur d'Absinthe received the silver medal at the Lyon International Competition in 2019.

It is produced only from herbs and seeds, giving it a 100% natural color. Besides, the recent change in the French legislation allows the Fleur d'Absinthe to contain more fennel than any other absinthes from the Devoille distillery, giving it a more fresh and round mouthfeel. The Fleur d'Absinthe has the particularity to be made from a blend of distillates (each herb is going through maceration and distillation steps). An innovating absinthe with a strong character!

Of the Libertine's Absinthes I've tasted, Fleur is top of the crop.
Prepare a glass, taste.. ..summer comes sneaking up on you..
..whatever time of the year :0) Enjoy!

9 Jan 2018

This was a wonderful surprise. Beautiful milky louche and lovely flavor. The addition of the artiemisia spring is delightful. Highly recommend.

Looks beautiful, has a reasonable price and 70 Cl is something they always recognize as a good thing.

All in All optisch super gut, Pur eher schlecht, verdünnt wieder super. Ergibt 4 Sterne.

I initially sampled this to compare lower priced Absinthes. What I found was a surprise. There is a certain something that it possesses that the Libertine lacks. The wormwood is more pronounced and forward - either from the sprig or the distillation process. While it's a great bargain I cannot compare it to other, more complex Absinthes I have tried. For this price point I give it high marks.

7 Oct 2014

A fantastic absinthe with a great aroma and taste. A very full flavor, as noted in some other comments, likely due to the sprig that is inside the bottle. Most likely in my top five absinthes. It is plenty strong though there are stronger brands. And it's a great price.

10 Sep 2012

This tastes about the same as the Libertine 55, but with a certain fullness to it. I'm guessing it's because of the constant saturation of the branch inside.

17 Oct 2011

Lovely presentation, really sophisticated flavor, one of my favorites. I have to say it again, never try to eat the flowers or the plants inside the bottles, it is not an intelligent idea.

10 Sep 2011

I really enjoy this one. It is very agreeable with me on many levels. Considering how often I choose to pour from it as opposed to the others, it may possibly be my favourite. Highly recommended.
Cheers

23 Apr 2011

The most incredible absinthe I have never tryed. However I sent a bottle to my cousin out of the city and something went brong with the label, all the liquor fills out. It was so so sad. Anyway, the 2 bottles came to me perfectly and I loved the taste and smell of this variety.

2 Apr 2011

Yeah this one is amazing, it quickly became my favorite.
I would say simply because of the wild taste from the after-still continuous maceration with this twig inside. It leaps at you with a meadow of aroma's and tastes very complex in a very enjoyable way.

Sweet, fresh, chamomile, herbal, alpine meadows, not too bitter... are the basic thoughts that I linger with when drinking this, it continuously leads me to analyze its complexity - and even in conversation I am partially pre occupied with the flavor, which is very well balanced as well.

So far the best for me!

26 Sep 2010

This is my favorite Absinthe. I don't care that the veggies aren't distilled and imparts different tastes, its still my favorite. I usually order three bottles at a time, but this order I did two so I could try some different ones but I always come back to my Absinthium 1792. totally cool bottle too. Must be my rogue American palette.

21 Sep 2010

Despite the controversial presentation the absinthe packs a wallop of fruity wormwood from Fougerolles, well-placed fennel and appropriate anise dose.

It is gently sweet, refreshing and delicate. Not as bitter as it might be owing to the sprig.

I really liked it.

Paul Devoille, France

devoille_distillery

1859: The distillery was founded by Xavier Devoille. His son, Paul Devoille, was very dedicated to developing the distillery, and worked hard on its growth. This is why up until this day, the distillery is named after him. Paul Devoille was a very important person in Fougerolles, he held the position of the major for many years.

1986: Due to the bad financial position the distillery was in, Jaques Veillet, the new owner of the distillery, decided to sell it to an experienced business man, who already invested into a couple of other distilleries inside and outside on France. René Miscault bought the distillery, and made some rapid administrational changes. He also expanded their product range, and opened the distillery for visitors to the public. These measures may seem drastic, however, they saved the distillery in the end. Today, Hugues Miscault, the son of René Miscault, runs the distillery.

Paul Devoille's Absinthe:

Their probably most popular absinthes, apart from the Libertines, and the Enigma Verte and Enigma Blanche. Absinthe Soixante-Cinq is a pretty interesting absinthe as well, with a quite spicy smell combined with a fruityness from the wine-alcohol base. Certainly, there are a lot of other spirits produced at Paul Devoille, such as eau-de-vies and liqueurs. From plum to strawberry, you can find nearly all of the common flavours.
