Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a renowned absintheur, even inventing his own absinthe cocktail, absinthe with an added dose of cognac, called the Tremblement de Terre in French — the 'Earthquake'. Toulouse-Lautrec was very fond of absinthe, whether drunk with sugar or added to a cocktail. He drank small, but frequent amounts, and always carried a cane along with him, which held a flask and a small glass inside.
