Absinthe WOLF Chili 66.6% - 50cl
This absinthe is red. But not the sweet pinkish red we know from other red absinthes, but a real fiery blood red.
WOLF Chili Absinthe is naturally coloured, and becomes darker with time. The recipe is based on the successful Valkyria absinthe, given a twist with extra herbs and of course, chili!
Colour: Fiery, blood-red, 100% natural.
Aroma: Sweet and tart.
Louche: The louche is pleasingly slow, becoming an attractive pink colour, slightly transparent.
Flavour: Extremely hot! Something only for people who really love spicy food. Anyone who isn’t used to really spicy flavours ought to give this one a miss. The hot taste of the chili is sadly slightly too dominant and the other herbs come through only subtly.
Finish: As soon as the chili subsides, anise and wormwood appear and lend the absinthe a pleasant finish. Your lips will continue to burn, however!
Conclusion: WOLF Chili is a hot, unique and naturally made absinthe. Its overwhelming chili flavour makes it one for chili fans, and WOLF fans. So is the way with unusual flavours – you either like them, or you don’t. The ambition and complexity of the WOLF Chili absinthe deserves praise, and the idea of signing the bottle goes well with the idea of the concept of this absinthe.

Makers of the first Swedish absinthe! The Valkyria Distillery is a youthful distillery. Starting out in 2011 in a disused church and going by the name 'Sankta Annas Bränneri', this is a true absinthe micro-distillery, with distillation, bottling and almost everything being carried out by owner Henrik Larsson. A lot of love goes into these spirits.
Absinthe Valkyria was the first legal Swedish absinthe, and since it has been launched has gained lots of fans, and been awarded a respectable number of medals in international spirits contests.
The distilleries other absinthes are also unique: Absinthe WOLF, light on anise, still very drinkable indeed. A collaboration with the heavy metal band of the same name. And Midvinterblot, an amber absinthe, with cinnamon and Swedish winter spices - unique!
