Absinth Verkostungsnotizen

Carefully curated spirits

I love absinthe, that much is clear.

I have a confession to make though. I enjoy other drinks than absinthe too. Sometimes the evening mood simply suits a Manhattan, so I reach for the red vermouth, a bottle of rye, and a red, kirsch-soaked cherry. And a dash of cocktail bitters.

Or a Negroni cocktail, made from gin, Campari and sweet vermouth in equal parts.

Sometimes after dinner, the best thing is to enjoy something fine and old: an argmagnac, a cognac, or a calvados.

We’ve decided that we wanted to make all our favourite spirits available on Absinthes.com in bottles large and small (mini spirits tubes for tasting): Gin, Vermouth, Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados, Chartreuse, Liqueurs, Pastis, MezcalItalian bitter liqueurs, and Cocktail Bitters (a lot from Bob’s Bitters, Scrappy’s Bitters, Bittermens, The Bitter Truth and more.

If you’re looking to impress your friends with a very unusual wine, rare and eccentric, we’ve got Chateau Chalon and Vin Jaune, from the Jean Bourdy Biodynamic organic vineyard. Due to a unique microorganism developing in the barrels, these wines are dry and savoury, something like a fino sherry, just a lot more complex. Or for something sweet, try the hyper-concentrated sweet Vin de Paille.

So have fun exploring, and most importantly, enjoy tasting! Message us if you have any questions about anything.

p.s. I can speak for the rest of the team here too – There is a special place in our hearts for the extraordinary spirit that is absinthe. With the power to transform any occasion into something special, just in the way the drink itself transforms from perfectly transparent to turbulently cloudy. Absinthe remains a firm favourite.
