A complex and powerful cognac, and unique! This Cognac started out like all other fine cognacs, made from selected grapes and distilled traditionally. Had it been aged in cognac, it would have been an excellent brandy. However its destiny was not to be cellared and await bottling decades in the future. Instead, in 1999, after being distilled, the casks were quite literally shipped to England, to sit in the village of Wickwar near Bristol and the river Severn: Dramatically different to Jarnac in the Cognac region where it came from! After several years soaking up the atmosphere of the English countryside, they headed for the city, for the port of Liverpool, where they would be warehoused on the docks. Here the sea air could interact with the barrels and the precious liquid within, imbuing it with a certain salty minerality. Having aged 15 years, in December 2014 it returned to Jarnac, where its creator, Philippe Braastad Tiffon, decided to release it.
