Abisinthe 72 is a bitter absinthe with a simple taste. It will suit amateurs of absinthes light on the palate. Ideal to refresh yourself.

Abisinthe 72 won a bronze medal a the 2004 Concours International des Eaux de Vie de Fruits in Metz (International Contest of Fruit Brandies)

The ancient recipe of this sugarless absinthe is obtained especially by distillation of a mixture of green anise and wormwood. However, many other plants, finely selected, are also part of its composition: star anise, fennel, gentian or even mugwort.

Unfortunately abisinthe 72 is not so good as other products from Lemercier distillery I have tried.

This absinthe is very light in flavor – much alcohol but not much anise and herb taste. The louche is one of the weakest I have ever seen. You will need a really ice-cold water and very slow dripping to see any louche. Also too pale color for 72%.

Amer version is much better.

By Fine quality, low tast

To my taste, the "anis" is a bit weak, and that is why I am only giving it tree stars, but the quality seems to be good and if you are to Absinth with lower anis tast I would recommend this Absinth.

Not quite as tasty as its cousin Amer but still a beautiful absinthe. Good for folks who like their absinthe a bit less licorice-y.
