Elegant, handmade glass and cast brass. Read the whole description
We recommend rinsing your fountain before first using it, as there may be traces of powder left from the traditional metal-casting process.
Ice can be added to the water in the reservoir, to create the perfect temperature.
Rather than emptying the fountain straight after using it, it is recommended to leave it overnight, avoiding any small risk, however rare, of thermal shock to the glass parts.
Contrary to what one might assume, absinthe fountains actually arrived very late in its history, carafes having been used before. It is thought that they were introduced by the absinthe-makers Cusenier in 1886, trying to give absinthe a healthy image. Water quality was not known to be of high quality, and so the fountains also contained a filter to remove impurities in the water supply.
Antique fontains are normally found with four taps, and were decorated with a coquerel, a symbol of France; an acorn; or a stylised pineapple, a traditional decorative form. It is believed these symbols were used to make the fountains, and absinthe, more acceptable to women at the time.

After seeing this fountain in use at the Arctic Club Historic Hotel in Seattle, WA we were on a mission to find one for our home bar! This is it! It is absolutely beautiful and indeed quite the conversation piece while in use or on display on our buffet. So wonderful to be able to get this item vs. searching for an antique version that would be much more costly.

This fountain is epic, beautiful, and well-crafted. A real conversation piece. Taps work great. Overall I am super happy with it.
The first glass came cracked but I contacted customer support and was able to get a replacement glass included with a different order.

Absolutely gorgeous. The fairy regally holds up the fountain with her outstretched arms.

When I received my fountain it was very well packed which I appreciated. The fountain was heavy, sturdy and lovely. It is an impressive looking piece on my bar and it worked perfectly. Thank you.

Just received the fountain and it's better that I thought it would be. Very well made and of high quality. Ordering from Absinthes.com is always an excellent experience, whether it was the fountain, the spoons or absinthe itself, packaged well and recieved in a quick week (the fountain was Germany to the U.S.). I've never been disappointed with any order from here.

The fountain is of the best quality and indeed a show stopper. It works amazingly and I am thrilled with the purchase. The entire experience dealing with absinthes.com was free of drama and that's the way I like it. A solid deal.

I was not expecting this level of quality for the price, the fountain is very solid and the design is beautiful. The packaging was very secure and everything arrived unblemished, assembly was simple and everything worked perfectly.
A lovely thin stream or individual drops of ice cold water can be achieved with this fountain, which is excellent for bringing out the best louche from different absinthes. Perfect for an evening of absinthe tasting with friends, a centre piece that will have everyone talking!

This fountain has a very nice level of detail. It feels very heavy and solid. The glass is also very solid and thick.
The 3 parts (metal lady, glass resevoir and metal top) are easy to assemble and make it easy to wash and store(=shame).
Being a real eye-catcher, this fountain will immediately start a conversation when having guests, even when not in use.
The taps work perfectly. you can ajust them from dripping to a thin waterbeam.
The payment and shipping were perfect. As soon as my payment was received, the package was shipped. It arrived 5 days later at my front door in Belgium (including weekend). Everything was packed with greatest care and arrived unbroken.
Extra: the taps are possitioned more like an 'x' (instead of a '+' as I originally thought).

First of all, everyone at Absinthes.com was extremely helpful. This fountain was first choice for a birthday present for my husband, but it was out of stock. I originally ended up settling for a second choice, but the company I dealt with did not let me know that their piece also was out of stock and only informed me when I complained and asked for assistance. Antoine and Andrew had been up front and honest about how soon my fountain would get here, and even though it arrived a few days late, it was well packaged, beautiful and my husband is absolutely thrilled with it.
Because of the great communication, great service and beautiful piece, we will return to Absinthes.com again and again. :)
