Absinthe La Berlinoise No. 4 is produced at a small distillery in Berlin, the capital of Germany. This is the 2nd absinthe from Marco Rüdiger and Christian Mock, who are also producing La Berlinoise No. 1.

This clear absinthe has a very special ingredient that gives it a unique and fresh taste: white thyme (tomillo blanco) from Spain. This variety of thyme grows in areas higher than 1200m in Spain and Portugal.

Absinthe La Berlinoise No. 4 is characterized by a fine note of eucalyptus, as well as some hints of mint and lemon balm. A little bit more star anise was used in the recipe of this No. 4,, in comparison to La Berlinoise No. 1.

When tasting this absinthe, anise and fennel come out first on the nose, shortly followed by a delightful freshness coming from tomillo blanco.

I got to sample this from a buddy of mine. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Will be great for hot days to cool down. This is on the milder end of the absinthe I've had, but strong enough to get the flavors you expect. This was enjoyable enough that I will consider it with my next order. One star taken off only because I didn't get much wormwood flavor.

Really lovely, mild and refreshing. The tomillo blanco adds a subtly different herbaceous note without overpowering.
