Absinthe La Pontissalienne comes from the Guy distillery, with a long history of absinthe making.

With medium anise and a more complex and powerful wormwood profile than Absinthe Francois Guy, made by the same distillery.

The Pontissalienne name comes from an old brand of absinthe from before the ban on absinthe in France. The famous Vichet distillery made an absinthe under the same name.

This absinthe won a gold medal at the 2011 Absinthiades competition and at the Concours Général Agricole (CGA) 2017 in Paris.

Distillery Pierre Guy, France

Founded by Armand Guy, this absinthe distillery is the last family-owned business in Pontarlier, where four generations of distillers have practised their art since 1890.

Effects were wicked. Taste was strong. Imagination was wild.

Picked a bottle of this up from Amsterdam to bring back with me to the uk... it has a nice balance and was happy with it, I will be buying again.

I'd put this right at the top of the mid-shelf absinthes. Its fresh anise flavor is much more balanced by wormwood than the standard Francois Guy offering. This is my go-to daily drinker as well as what I like to use to introduce a person to absinthe in general.

Bought this in Amsterdam to bring back to the States. Really the best I've ever had. Smooth, enjoyable.
