Philippe Martin took over the Valote Martin distillery from his father in 2014. Since then, he continues the family tradition by distilling absinthe in the clandestine style.

For the production of Absinthe Martin, he used a larger amount of grand wormwood compared to his other absinthes. An intense wormwood aroma that can be clearly identified during a tasting.

Along with wormwood, anise and fennel, Philippe also used lemon balm and hyssop. Most of the herbs are cultivated in the distillery's own garden, right in front of the distillery in Boveresse.

We recommend to enjoy Absinthe Martin according to the traditional ritual and slightly sugared.

This absinthe is also available in 50cl and 1L. Click here to read the complete product description.

La Valote Martin, Switzerland

The distillery of Philippe Martin is situated in Boveresse, in the Val-de-Travers, the birthplace of absinthe and today home to some of the finest absinthe distilleries.

Philippe Martin distills his absinthes in an old house known to locals as La Maison des Chats, a centuries-old building decorated with stone sculptures of cats. Right opposite is the distillery's own garden, where most of the herbs used for Philippe’s absinthe is cultivated.

Philippe took over the distillery from his father Francis Martin in 2014, who distilled for 33 years during the time of the absinthe ban in Switzerland. When absinthe was re-legalized in 2005, Francis received a licence to produce absinthe legally.
