The distiller of this organic absinthe is Thor Wallgren who was part of the founding team of the first ever absinthe distillery to be opened in Sweden, the Valykria distillery, formerly known as Sankta Annas Bränneri. The distiller has created his very own absinthe recipe, and at 55% the absinthe Quarantaine is fairly low on alcohol for a green absinthe. The color is all natural and the absinthe shimmers in a nice pale green.

Read Marc Thuillier‘s tasting notes on Absinthe Quarantaine here.

Absinthe Quarantaine is distilled from just natural, organic ingredients and is classified as an organic absinthe. It‘s secret ingredient is a typical Scandinavian herb that represents the wild and vast nature of Sweden.

Absinthe Quarantaine can be enjoyed both neat or after the traditional French Absinthe Ritual.

A very easy absinthe to drink. I am using it to mix light & fruity cocktails.

Fresh and different, with a tinge of wormwood bitterness. Best served with 1/4 lump of sugar and 1 part Quarantaine + 2 parts water. Definitely the best value for money. Both for beginners and experienced absinthe-lovers.

Unexpected price point and great value. Very citrusy bouquet with herbs coming on with water and the "secret ingredient." Spicy finish. Now my everyday go-to. 5 stars for that and 4 against the rest. Just ordered half a case.

A pleasant surprise in my opinion, too. Citrusy, with some juniper-like notes, sufficient wormwood presence, better than adequate louche, low price, and organically produced to boot (is there another way for absinthe?), this is absolutely worth trying. And drinking, again, and again...

A fresh and subtly citrusy absinthe with a nice louche. Did not have any high expectations given its low price but I was pleasantly surprised! The quality-price ratio is excellent, will buy again. I like it 1:3 with no sugar.

Truly unique!! I love this stuff. Lots of citrus and spicy notes along with a woody bitter tone. Very nice when mixed at a 2:1 ratio with just a 1/4 sugar cube, which brings out the anise and fennel. Almost has a gin-like quality. Highly recommend this as it is tasty and inexpensive!
