Founded in 1935, Goudoulin Armagnac continues to be exceptional: characterised by rancio, prune notes, and vanilla. This RUEVERTE Explore Set offers the opportunity to taste the following 3 Armagnacs from Goudoulin, aged for 8 years, 20 years and Hors d'âge (beyond age – essentially meaning 'of particularly high quality').

A perfect introduction to Armagnac. The set is accompanied by a card with tasting notes for each Goudoulin Argmagnac and the historic background to the distillery. Here is a little more information on all Armagnac included in this set:

Goudoulin - Bas Armagnac 8 ans d'âge

This 8 year old vintage possesses the typical amber colour of most Armagnacs from the Bas-Armagnac region. The first thing to hit the nose is a beautiful warm bread aroma, following by stirring tones of vanilla and light rancio. The flavour is very balanced and rounded in the mood, with light tannin. The remains of the rancio hints tend toward prune in the finish.

Goudoulin - Bas Armagnac 20 ans d'âge

Goudoulin's Bas Armagnac still maintains its typical rich amber colour after 20 years of ageing. The strong, flexible resonance in the nose is marked by sugar plum and prune tones. The thick rancio is typical for an Armagnac of this age, with light almond notes offering a refreshing contrast.

Goudoulin - Bas Armagnac Hors d'âge / XO

This Armagnac from the Bas-Armagnac region has an amber colour typical of most brandies, but is unusually bright and with some clear green hints. The first experience on the nose is of stewed prunes, enhanced by vanilla and cinnamon. The attack on the palate is frank and refreshing, with very light tannin. Prunes and rancio tones enhance the finish.
