The 10 strongest Absinthes on Absinthes.com

Many absintheurs and absinthe enthusiasts are looking for one thing in an absinthe: It has to be the best absinthe. It has to be the strongest absinthe. But what makes an absinthe “the best”?

Especially absinthe enthusiasts new to the world of absinthe are looking for absinthes that are high on thujone. Others look for as much ABV. as possible.

At Absinthes.com, we don’t categorize our absinthes according to their thujone level – why? Find out here. A quick explanation though: The amount of thujone contained in absinthe brands doesn’t say much about it’s quality, and it doesn’t guarantee that it’s the right absinthe for you. Also, there’s one thing you can be certain of: No matter which absinthe you drink, you won’t go and dance with the Green Fairy. It’s a myth.

However, the effects of absinthe are still very pleasant and stimulating. Many attempted to describe the way absinthe makes one feel, and I believe I found someone who put it into his own lovely words:

“It’s a strikingly clear-minded drunk. A drunk where ideas crash into one another like dominos (anarchy inside of harmony), where one’s eyes are opened wide as if with the aid of close-pins, where one’s arms seem filled with helium and float around the torso and one’s fingers seem to twitch on invisible piano keys. A drunk where every creative impulse seems practical and doable. A drunk that makes you feel like a fool, but a proud one.” Jeff Campagna
