Rum from Panama - Ron Abuelo Añejo 40% - 0.7l
The Ron Abuelo rums from the Varela Hermanos Destilería Don José are a prime example of the Central American art of distilling. The distillery can look back on a history with a long tradition: In 1908, the Spanish immigrant Don José Varela Blanco founded a sugar mill in a valley in the heart of Panama. Sugar cane juice for the production of spirits has been distilled at the site since 1935. The sugar cane for Ron Abuelo Añejo is also grown locally.
Therefore, sugar cane honey, vanilla, caramel and nutmeg are the main notes found in the complex aromas of Ron Abuelo Añejo. Tropical hints of fruit and woody notes complement the balanced taste of the clear golden-amber colored rum. In the aftertaste, the Ron Abuelo Añejo is distinctly spicy.
